Women's Executive Leadership Program
The Impact Center's Women’s Executive Leadership Program (WELP) fosters leadership growth for high-impact women executives. Building long term professional networks with a supportive community of accomplished leaders and learning how to thrive as a woman leader are distinguishing characteristics of this program. Individuals meet regularly with an experienced executive coach and accomplished peers to embrace strengths and enhance their leadership skills.

The Women's Executive Leadership Program includes two executive retreats that focus on building a leadership identity, embracing strengths as a woman leader, and investing in social capital. In-between Retreats, leaders meet regularly with an experienced executive coach and monthly with peers to incorporate and refine new skills. Building long-term professional networks with a diverse community of peers and accomplished leaders is a distinguishing characteristic of this program.
Professional mid-to-senior level women* who are:
Assuming increased leadership responsibilities or scope;
In a period of transition; or
Moving into a leadership role requiring business development or broader focus outside the organization.
Participants should have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience and accomplishments in an organization. Successful participants demonstrate a track record of continuous improvement, self-awareness, openness to honest feedback, and shared commitment to helping others succeed while making a positive impact on society.
*Past participants include Directors, Senior Directors, Vice Presidents, and Partners.

An executive coach who works exclusively with you to hold you accountable for staying true to your vision, making progress on your development, and incorporating new leadership behavior

The Program is designed to engage a wide variety of learning styles through large group discussions, small group activities, individualized coaching, and self-reflection exercises. The curriculum focuses on three main areas and objectives:

Phase One - Individual Leadership Development
Welcome webinar and online needs analysis to introduce Class and determine specific programming needs
Self-assessment to understand individual strengths, development needs and objectives
Phase Two – Executive Retreat: Orientation and Networking
Three day Executive Retreat in Washington, DC area to develop a leadership vision and development plan and engage with peers and alumni
Phase Three – Individual Leadership Development and Peer Mentoring
Monthly 1:1 executive coaching sessions for individualized leadership development
Monthly webinars with peers to share expertise and learn from others
Monthly peer mentoring sessions in small groups to provide and receive support
Phase Four – Executive Retreat: Networking, Leadership Development, and Graduation
Three day Executive Retreat to embrace strengths as a woman leader and build social capital
Graduation and access to a broad network of accomplished leaders
Accelerating leadership development:
The Impact Center facilitates interdisciplinary learning activities within the Women’s Executive Leadership Program to accelerate individual growth in four ways:
Executive Retreats facilitate programming specific to transformational leadership, inclusive leadership, and connected leadership.
Highly skilled Executive Coaches provide coaching services to each participant
Members of the highly accomplished class learn and teach each other through webinars and peer mentoring calls.
Accomplished leaders attend Retreats as Executives in Residence. Recent Executives include the General Counsel, TD Ameritrade and the former president of IKEA North America.

Leaders receive individual attention within small groups to accelerate development and increase relationship-building.
Targeted leadership programming focuses on women's leadership strengths and gender diversity for immediate application at work.
Access to a select and diverse network of talented peers, accomplished leaders, and Executive Coaches that builds social capital across public, private, and non-profit sectors.
The individual tuition fee of $7,500 includes two 3-day Executive Retreats, six 1:1 sessions with an executive coach, peer mentoring groups, skill building sessions, instructional materials, and meals. Travel expenses and lodging are not included. To help candidates access funding, the Women's Leadership Institute provides materials to share with your employer for reimbursement.
How to Apply:
Classes convene in the Spring and Fall. Applications for the 2019 Spring Class of the Women's Executive Leadership Program are being accepted and will be considered on a rolling basis.
