Karen Clay
Karen Clay is Principal at St. Peter School on Capitol Hill, which was recognized twice as a National Blue Ribbon School based on overall academic excellence. She began her career in education in the classroom before ascending to Assistant Principal at Holy Trinity School in Georgetown and serving as the Principal of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic School.
Prior to launching her education career, Karen worked in global relations for General Motors in Detroit and worked for Lieutenant Governor Buddy McKay in Florida.
Karen holds a Master of Education degree (summa cum laude) in Administration & Supervision from Marymount University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and English from the University of Michigan, as well as a professional certificate in Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well-Being from George Mason University.
Karen is an alumnae of the Women’s Executive Leadership Program (Class of 2019), was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors for Archangel Airborne - a humanitarian special operations organization, appointed as a Trustee to the Employee Retirement Board for the Archdiocese of Washington, and served on the Executive Board of the Elementary School Principals Association.
