Mary Kate Blaine
Mary Kate Blaine has led and served in educational and nonprofit spaces as an executive, chief of staff, and educator for more than two decades. Over the last twelve years, she served as head of school at Trinity Hall in Monmouth County, NJ, principal at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington, D.C and chief of staff to the superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of New York. Mary Kate began her career in education as a social studies teacher at Notre Dame School of Manhattan, where she later served as social studies department chair and director of curriculum development. She also serves as a master teacher with the Gilder Lehrman Institute, facilitating workshops for teachers from all over the United States to support effective teaching of American history.
Mary Kate holds two graduate degrees from Columbia University (an EdM in school leadership and a MA in history & education) and a BA in American Studies from Fordham University. She earned her diploma in executive coaching through St. Joseph’s University in partnership with the Center for Executive Coaching. Mary Kate is also a board certified coach through the Center for Credentialing in Education.
Mary Kate is an alumnae of the Women’s Executive Leadership Program (2018). She loves volunteering as a leadership coach with Braven (2023 - present), an organization committed to helping first-generation college students secure their first strong job following graduation. Mary Kate has also blended her passion for coaching with service as a mentor for DC high school students with Spark the Journey (2015 - 2021) and supporting transitioning veterans as a coach with Hope for the Warriors (2011 - 2013).
Outside of her professional endeavors, Kate loves doting on her nieces, nephews, and godchildren; slowly but steadily training for road races; following current events and all manner of political punditry; and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles (even when they break her heart).
